Response to overview and conventions of crime/mystery

As shown in the previous post, there are various conventions our group must be aware of when creating our film opening, and we must incorporate as many of these as possible. Though saying this, we must also think of ways to subvert the genre, in order to make our opening all the more creative, and also, subverting the genre slighlty can create a greater sense of enigma, a crucial aspect of crime/mystery films/ which will make our film opening more effective in engaging the audience, and making them want to find out what happens next. Identifying the key conventions and aspects of the crime/mystery genre has been very beneficial to us in that the more we know about crime/mystery films, the more we can incorporate into it. Not only crime/mystery films, though, will aid us in creating our film opening but also looking at scenes of various different films, in particular the opening of films.
