Response to Market Research
Based on my market research, it is clear that the crime/mystery genre is a successful genre as most films tend to gross more money than the budget. This clearly shows that people like the genre. It is also clear that many crime films tend to tie in with different genres such as action, horror and drama. The films that are solely based on crime/mystery tend to be older films before the 1990's such as film-noir types of film. As such, we have considered incorporating elements of another genre in our film opening, though we have also considered making the film similar to older films.
